CREEKSIDE HERBS & ART
is more then a store, it is a way of life for us. We are located
in the Eastern Upper Peninsula of Michigan along the lakeshore of Lake
Huron (one of the 5 Great Lakes). Its pristine environment is home
to the eagles, a variety of water birds, song birds, coyote, black bear
and bobcats. Our store is set in the woods along a winding creek
and ancient White Pines. Our goal is to have Creekside Herbs & Art
give the customer a feeling of tranquility and peace. A place to purchase
products handmade by local artists, supporting community and products
that are earth friendly and socially responsible.
LOCAL AND REGIONAL ART WORK: Hand blown glass, jewelry, pottery, hand-turned wooden bowls, paintings, hand woven rugs and hats, baskets, blacksmith works, folk art sculpture, hand painted silk scarves as well as hand knited scarves and much more. NEW! Always new glass coming in! Paper pottery very unique!!
NATIVE AMERICAN ART: We carry many local and region Native American art and craft work at the shop. Birch bark frames, beautiful beaded bags, baskets, lampshades, place mats, quill boxes, pitcher frames,christmas ornaments with sweetgrass and quill work, beaded jewelry, carved antler knives, sweetgrass braids & baskets, dream catchers and more. Always something new coming in.
ORGANIC CULINARY HERBS & SPICES: We have a large variety of bulk culinary herbs and spices. Mulling Spices in cloth drawstring bag. Best Seller - Gourmet Peppercorns and Garlic N Herb Spice mix.
ORGANIC MEDICINAL HERBS: We have medicinal bulk herbs, tinctures, salves, teas, creames and capsules. We also do special orders.
POTTED HERBS, PERENNIALS, ANNUALS, WILD NATIVE PLANTS, SEEDS: We have a large selection of herbal plants, perennials, hard to find annuals & everlasting's, native wildflower and medicinal plants of our area.
GARDEN SUPPLIES, SCULPTURES:
We carry many unique clay pots, garden markers, incredible grapevine sculpture
and wall baskets, cocoa bean mulch (a must for all gardens), lots of unique
sculptures located in our one of a kind sculpture garden, unique water
fountains and hand-blown glass with DunnHill Iron Works base birdbaths.

BOTANICALS: We carry our own line of Les Cheneaux Islands Botanicals including: Body & bath oil, bath salts, facial sprays, soaps, shampoo, conditioner, lib balm, essential oils, lotions, bath gels and bug off. We encourage people to bring back their bottles to refill them to save on cost and packaging. We also carry many other great non-toxic, non-petroleum, cruelty-free botanical products. BOOK & MUSIC: We have a good selection of gardening books, medicinal, craft, wildflowers, Native American, spirituality, self-help, children, birds, animals and books on nature and the Earth. We also carry a good selection of journals, specialty cards from tree-free sources and beautiful handmade papers. We have a nice selection of nature based and Native American music and great kid tapes. Just In! Always a new book to look at!
ORGANIC COTTON/HEMP CLOTHING: We carry clothing made from organic cotton and organic sherpra, hemp clothing for women, men and children. A beautiful selection of silk scarves each of one-of-a-kind designs hand made and our line of Les Cheneaux T-shirts, hats, sweatshirts, cloth bags and kids hooded jackets. Best Seller - Kid's Overalls! and hooded jackets.
GREEN PRODUCTS: We carry biodegradable soaps, reusable tea & coffee strainers, new heads for toothbrushes, green cleaning products, tree-free cards, bulk herbs and refillable bottles for our botanicals, essential oils and more.
DRIED FLOWERS, WREATHS AND ARRANGEMENTS: Our ceiling is full of different dried everlasting's, roses, flowers and herbs. We sometimes get around to making beautiful wreaths and arrangements. We are phasing out this end of our business, look for sales!
SPECIALTY FOODS: We carry Kewennaw Handmade Jam from a group of Mennonites from the Western UP, Garlic& Onion Jam, Lemon Pear Marmalade, Fresh Mango Chutney, Apple Cranberry Chutney, Cranberry Orange Butter, Maple Pumpkin Butter, Sweet Basil Pinon Pesto, Lemon Dill Cocktail Sauce, Garlic Teriyaki Sauce, Les Cheneaux Ice Cream Toppings, Cherry Chutney, Balsamic Vinegar, Cherry Marinade and Herbal Vinegars from the Cherry Capital of the world Traverse City, local Maple Syrup and Honey, Roasted Garlic & Basil Grape Seed Oils, Gourmet Mustards, Brusetta, Black Bean Humus and Asparagus Guacamole, many other unique specialty foods.
AROMATHERAPY: We carry essential oils and can make up special blends, we have books, incense, diffusers, candles and many other aromatherapy products. NEW! We have an in house aroma therapist. You can make an appointment to have your own special scent made, facials, messages or body wraps. Please inquire about an appointment.
FOR THE HOME: Place mats, throws, great line of aromatherapy candles, christmas candles, hand-woven rugs, hand spun yarns and bags, unique candle holders, birch bark frames, & more.
KIDS CORNER: We have many wonderful kids craft kits and books. Wonderful line of homemade wooden toys including a full size train. Lets let our kids get creative!
TEAS AND HERBAL COFFEE: We have lots of bulk and packaged teas for medicinal or pleasure purposes. NEW! We carry some Free-Trade coffees and teas. Educate yourself on what free-trade is and how we can all help support farmers across the globe have fair wages, social justice and more.
